A simple conversation at work leads to an unexpected search for a very particular pencil, made all the more unusual because it would turn out to be the last day the musicians of the Vancouver Island Symphony would work together as a full orchestra for more than 2 years.

Nanaimo marimba player performing as part of online showcase - Nanaimo News Bulletin



On Oct. 24 Arendt and her band – husband and soprano saxophonist Chris Helman and Vancouver Island Symphony double bassist Mark Beaty – perform as part of the online Fall Moon Concerts series. Arendt will also play her new electronic synthesizer marimba, which will make it sound like she’s also plucking a mandolin and banging on stainless steel bowls.
